Accessibility Statement

A collection should belong to whoever wants to keep one. We’re committed to making Metacollector accessible to people with disabilities and continually improving for everyone.

Introduction

Metacollector is committed to providing a web application that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We actively work to increase the accessibility and usability of our platform and strive to adhere to available standards and guidelines.

Scope: This statement applies to the web application at metacollector.app, including all public-facing pages and the authenticated user dashboard.

Exclusions: The PayloadCMS administration panel used by internal administrators is excluded from this statement. This third-party interface is maintained separately and has its own accessibility considerations.

Conformance Status

Metacollector partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by the European accessibility standard EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to all success criteria. We are actively working to achieve full conformance and address known limitations documented below.

Measures Taken

Metacollector takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of our platform:

  • Automated testing: We run axe-core accessibility scans as part of our continuous integration pipeline to catch regressions early.
  • Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, lists, and other semantic elements to convey structure and meaning.
  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are operable via keyboard. We test tab order, focus management, and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Screen reader compatibility: We use WAI-ARIA attributes, live regions, and descriptive labels to support assistive technologies.
  • Skip links: A skip-to-content link is provided on every page to allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation.
  • Focus management: Focus is programmatically managed during route transitions, modal dialogs, and dynamic content updates.
  • Motion sensitivity: We respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query to reduce or disable animations for users who prefer reduced motion.
  • Color independence: Information is never conveyed by color alone. We use icons, text labels, and patterns alongside color to communicate status and meaning.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of Metacollector may have accessibility limitations. We are aware of the following issues and are working to resolve them:

  • User-uploaded images: Images uploaded by users may lack appropriate alternative text. We encourage users to provide descriptions when uploading media.
  • Third-party components: Some third-party UI components may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements. We actively work with component maintainers to improve accessibility.
  • Complex data tables: Some data tables with advanced sorting and filtering may have suboptimal screen reader announcements. We are improving ARIA labeling for these interactions.

This list is updated as issues are identified and resolved. If you discover an accessibility barrier not listed here, please contact us using the information below.
